STRATEGIC PLAN – 2001

The strategic plan of USDG 2001 is based on three main points of the project:

  • to share idea of understanding, tollerance and cooperation among mentally disabled and able-bodied children and youth,
  • to share the idea of abilities and didgnity of people with mental disability (to responsible persons in municipalities, in schools in public)
  • to increase the opportunities to participate in SO clubs, school clubs, unified groups.

 

Two starting points seem to be very important for the strategic plan:

First:

  • The results of discussion during coaches seminar and workshops (January 21-26, 2001, Krkonose mountains, 32 coaches) constituted the platform for realistic way of the project (in accordance of Czech cultural and economic conditions, desire of coaches):
  1. Coaches are very keen to develop and inprove unified systém of Special olympics sports.
  2. The coaches are limited with location of their clubs (outside of higher density of inhabitants), with the level of retardation and skills/abilities of athletes, with coaches potential.
  3. In spite of the fact next attention should be paid to development unified systém on two levels:
    1. lower ability athletes:
      • dual sports: badminton (new), cycling-duplex (new), orienteering (new), table-tenis,
      • team sports: boccia
    2. highwer ability athletes:
      • traditional sports with accent on improving training quality, number of sportsmen and partners: throwball (accent on girls involvement), football, volleyball, floor-hockey, basketball.
  4. Seminars, workshops, teaching materials under rules of Unified Sports Development Grant – very helpful means of realization.

Second:

  • Analysis of recent situation – statistics of registered sportsmen and partners, geographical (local) distribution.

Schedule of realization 2001, responsibility, content:

  • teaching materials – continuously prepared and innovated: FTNC, PTDC
  • project administration – continuously : FTNC (Kurz)
  • Participation in National Conference – Session Sports and Disability
  • Contacts with Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, with Universities representatives, explanation of SO philosophy, explanation of USDG purpose and realization

March 31, Prague, FTNC (Kurz)

  • National Coordinators Meeting
  • Resposibility and tasks delegation: events, region, student´s assistants.

March 31, Prague, FTNC (Kurz):

  • General Assembly Meeting:
  • intensive explanation of USDG to all key persons of SO clubs in CR,
  • screening of conditions for dual sports (questionnaire),
  • screening of ability and ethiology of disability (basis for REGISTER-CENSUS and strategy of available SO programe and sports)

April 6-8, Olomouc, PTDC

  • Coaches seminar, student´s/seminar leaders training
  • 35 coaches interested in unified systém development: basic and massive “unified”
  • information, unified training
  • 12 students: main positions:

    • Michaela Svozilová – orienteering – (travelling)

April 6-10, all over Czech Republic

  • UEFA football week: under agreement with Czech-Moravian Football Union prolonged as Football month (reason: league, cup and international events cumulation during April 2-6).
  • 1 Match: SO Unifed team vers. youth club representative team
  • 1 seminar (SO+Unified systém) for professional coaches
  • Meetings of professional coaches with SO clubs (up to May 15) - see uefa week

April (continuously): FTNC, PTDC, PTRC

  • Call for contacts with 14 new re-organized reigonal authority (Hot Period in Czech re-organization of regional authority and municipality politics, economic systém).
  • The project in this point must be a little postponed – as the dedadline of “clarks changing” is June 2001
  • Materials for improving public relation (for “clarks” information) SO, unified system and USDG work must be finished.
  • Request on schedual (seminar harmonogram) for 14 regions:
  • governmental authority: school departments,
  • social workes deparments in new regions)
  • advisory bodies: committee for education and social policy
  • committee for culture and sports development,
  • regional committe for support citizens with special needs

April 27-29, Zlín, PTRC (Dědková)

  • 22.-24.6. Vivat Vita Days + Knapek´s memorial (Days for music and sports of persons with disability), Olomouc: joint with Meeting and workshop of universities reprezentatives, responsible in university sport´s development.

July-August (holidays): PTDC + student´s team + local assistants

  • workshops – the SO philosophy and unified ideas included in youth summer sports camps.
  • CHECKING OF TEACHING PACKS, study materials for diferent levels and purpose of project: general development of Czech SO : rules and text book of instructors, coaches
